Location. The Hyatt Place Milford is located in Milford, Conn., within two miles of the River Park Historic District. Charles Island is three miles away. The hotel is six miles from downtown New Haven and seven miles from Yale University.
Hotel Features. The lobby at the Hyatt Place Milford has been replaced with a Gallery area featuring a check in kiosk. The open Gallery area features a bakery offering a coffee and a wine bar. A touch screen kiosk provides self service and light fare. Complimentary breakfasts are provided and feature Starbucks coffee. Other amenities in the central Gallery area include a room with a 27 inch, flat screen television and use of a computer with high speed Internet access and printer. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. The on site fitness center includes televisions, treadmills, an exercise bike and an elliptical cross training machine.
Guestrooms. The Hyatt Place Milford guestrooms feature bedding with down duvets, 250 thread count triple sheeting, and European roll and throw pillows. Separate sitting areas are provided and furnished with queen sofa beds, partially screened from sleeping areas. Sleeping areas feature 42 inch, flat screen televisions. MP3 players and DVD players are provided. High speed wired and wireless Internet access is complimentary. Bathrooms feature granite countertops and provide Portico white ginger scented toiletries. Refrigerators and wet bars are included.
Expert Tip. According to local legend, William Kidd buried his treasure on Charles Island, three miles from the hotel. Charles Island is now a bird sanctuary, known for egrets and herons. The ruins of a Catholic monastery can be found on the island, part of the Silver Sands State Park. No treasure has ever been found.
